FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1) WHAT IS DOUBLE OCCUPANCY? IS THE PRICE PER PERSON?
Double occupancy simply means that there will be 2 people in the room. Our double occupancy accommodations will most likely have 2 queen beds in the room if you booked double occupancy and are coming solo, a roommate will be assigned to you for the duration of the trip. ALL LISTED PRICES ON OUR WEBSITE IS PER PERSON, regardless if there are one or 2 travelers in the room. Couples must book double occupancy each.
2) DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS?
*Please review the updated refund policy below for all 2024 trips*
Any cancellation of a booking and/or a Product by a Client must be delivered to Kultured Travels in writing and be acknowledged by Kultured Travels in writing. Products are NON-REFUNDABLE. It is required that all Kultured Travels clients PURCHASE trip cancellation coverage. Trip cancellation insurance is the only means of receiving reimbursement for flights and other non-refundable expenses should you cancel your Kultured Travels trip for any reason, whether voluntarily or as a result of Kultured Travels' actions.

All payments made towards any Kultured Travels products or service is not refundable.

Any 2024 trips canceled by Kultured Travels will be 100% refunded should the traveler select that option (explained further in section 6A of our booking terms)
Kultured Travels is not responsible for any incidental expenses or consequential losses that the Client may have incurred as a result of the canceled booking such as visas, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or rail, non-refundable.
We strongly encourage you to purchase comprehensive cancel for any reason insurance (CFAR) within 10 days of your purchase, so that you'll be able to recover your investment from your insurance provider, should you need to cancel. This website provides a variety of comprehensive cancel for any reason insurance options. Many CFAR insurance plans include medical insurance.
COMPREHENSIVE CANCEL FOR ANY REASON INSURANCE MAY ONLY BE AVAILABLE TO CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND CANADA. CITIZENS OF OTHER COUNTRIES MAY NOT BE ABLE TO RECOVER THE COSTS OF THEIR EXPERIENCE IF THEY HAVE TO CANCEL AFTER PURCHASING.
3) WHAT HAPPENS TO MY DEPOSIT IF I CAN NO LONGER MAKE IT?
Please note that cancellations made within 24 hours of the deposit date will be refunded. Cancellations made after 24 hours will be subjected to our new refund policy above.
4) CAN I CANCEL MY TRIP IF I NO LONGER WANT TO COME?
Yes, you are free to cancel your spot if you no longer wish to join the experience. However, please revisit the refund policy at the very top of this page to determine what kind of refund you'll be able to get. To cancel a trip paid in full, please email contact@kulturedtravels.com immediately and inform us of your decision. To cancel a payment plan, you can manually do so on your Kultured Travels account.
5)CAN I TRANSFER/SWITCH TO ANOTHER TRIP AFTER I ALREADY PAID IN FULL/MADE MY DEPOSIT FOR ANOTHER?
Effective May 2024, clients may transfer from one destination to another, however, a change fee of $100 will be added to the balance of the new chosen destination. The fee will only be waived if your first destination (Trip) was canceled or rescheduled by Kultured Travels. If the original trip is still on track, the fee will still apply.
6)WHAT HEALTH AND SAFETY MEASURES DO YOU HAVE IN PLACE FOR 2024 TRIPS?
In order to host our group tours in 2024 and protect all attendees, we have implemented the following changes designed to keep you safe and protected during your trip.

A NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST IS REQUIRED (TAKEN NO MORE THAN 3 DAYS BEFORE DEPARTURE DATE) TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY 2024 KULTURED TRAVELS TRIPS.

MASKS ARE TO BE WORN IN ALL GROUP ACTIVITIES AND CAR RIDES.

GROUP ACTIVITIES HAVE BEEN REDESIGNED TO FACILITATE SOCIAL DISTANCING.

WE ARE ONLY WORKING WITH FACILITIES AND GUIDES THAT HAVE BEEN TRAINED AND CERTIFIED IN COVID-19 TOURISM MANAGEMENT. GUIDES AND FACILITIES THAT PRIORITIZE CLEANING AND SANITIZATIONS.

7)WILL I HAVE A ROOMMATE?
Yes if you booked double occupancy, you can request your roommate of choice if you are traveling with someone else, if not a roommate will be assigned to you. Kultured Travels Experiences is designed to foster community.
8) WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO SHARE A ROOM WITH A STRANGER?
While we encourage room sharing to foster a sense of community, we understand that some people aren’t comfortable with a roommate arrangement. To have your own room, please book single occupancy, it is more than Double Occupancy.
9)DO I BOOK MY OWN FLIGHT?
Please note that we do not currently offer flight booking services at this time. Please note that all currently listed trip prices do not include international flights from your home country to the destination.
Choice: We want you to have the ultimate choice when booking your airfare. Whether you want to scour the internet to compare the lowest fare, book first-class airfare on your own.
Flexibility: Looking to arrive at your travel destination a couple of days (or months) before your trip begins, or want to stay longer after it ends.
10) WHO SHOULD COME ON A KULTURED TRAVELS EXPERIENCE?
Kultured Travels Experiences are crafted with our diverse audience in mind. However, there are few characteristics that we think all participants should have:
Intellectual curiosity – We will be exploring a new land, and we want all of our participants to immerse themselves and try to learn as much as possible.
A sense of adventure – Kultured Travels aims to push you out of your comfort zone; the ideal participant will embrace this challenge with open arms.
Personable – Our group experiences will put you in touch with new people; we hope that you will connect with each other and potentially form friendships.
Respectful – Being part of a travel group will expose you to people of different races, backgrounds, religions, sexual orientations, and much more. Please be respectful to all and do not affect the group’s energy.
11) WHAT’S INCLUDED?
Accommodation for the duration of the trip, all activities listed on the itinerary, most meals (see itinerary for exclusions), airport pick up and drop off, local transportation in-country, multilingual host, guide, and a private photographer are included. Additionally, the Cuba Experience includes accommodation for 5 days / 4 nights and a local Spanish-speaking guide in addition to the Kultured Travels staff and private photographer. 12) WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED?
Alcoholic beverages (depending on the trip), incidental room charges in hotels and homes, travel insurance, international flights, and individual activities on your free days are not included.
13) WHAT INSURANCE IS REQUIRED?
Travel medical insurance is required. For travel medical insurance, our minimum insurance policy coverage for medical emergency evacuation and repatriation is USD $100,000 (or equivalent in other currencies). We will verify that all travelers have such insurance in place and coverage as per the requirements listed above.
We recommend the Insuremytrip, Travel Insurance, and World Nomadsmarketplace where you will find a variety of travel insurance options. You have the choice to use any travel insurance provider you'd like, as long as you send us proof of insurance at least one month before the scheduled departure. Failure to provide accurate proof of insurance prior to attending our trips will result in cancellation.
Please note many comprehensive “cancel for any reason” insurance plans include medical insurance.
14) WHAT INSURANCE IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED?
Due to the involved logistics, we do not offer refunds after 60 days prior to the departure date - therefore we strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive cancel for any reason insurance. By having comprehensive cancel for any reason insurance, you won't need to worry about emergencies that can happen before or during your experience. World Nomads offers a variety of comprehensive cancel-for-any-reason insurance plans that will allow you to cancel your trip and obtain a refund from the insurance provider.

15) CAN I INVITE A FRIEND?
Yes! However, all spaces are first come first serve, if your friends do not book before we sell out, they will no longer be able to join.
16) WHO WILL BE MY POINT OF CONTACT AFTER BOOKING?
We have a dedicated customer service specialist who will assist you with all of your needs. Please contact us at info.kulturedtravels@gmail.com. We will respond to your inquiry within 24 hours. In addition to that, you’ll receive frequent email communication and other opportunities to connect with your experience cohort in the months leading up to your trip.
17) DO I NEED A VISA TO TRAVEL WITH KULTURED TRAVELS EXPERIENCES?
It depends. Currently, our Cuba and Bali experiences require a visa for U.S Citizens. For potential customers who aren’t U.S. Citizens, please use this free tool to determine your Visa requirements (Click Here) for other KT destinations. We recommend you look into this as soon as possible to avoid last-minute visa request fees or have your visa request denied.
18) HOW DOES THE PAYMENT PLAN OPTION WORK?
When you purchase a tour using a payment plan, a one-time deposit is due at purchase. The payment on file will then be automatically charged the same amount as your deposit every month for the duration of your plan (duration varies per trip date). In the event that your card on file gets declined, our payment platform will make a second attempt in 5 days. If the 2nd attempt is also declined, in 5 more days your spot will be canceled automatically with no refund.
19) WHAT ARE THE AVERAGE AGES OF TRAVELERS THAT PURCHASE KULTURED TRAVELS EXPERIENCES?
We welcome anyone over the age of 18. The average age range of our travelers is 18-70.
20) CAN KULTURED TRAVELS TOURS BE PLANNED FOR MY LARGE GROUP OF FRIENDS?
Yes, the dates just cannot conflict with any other tour we have planned. The group must be a minimum of 15 people age 18 and over. Contact us via email at contact@kulturedtravels.com and a representative will get back to you.
21) WHY ARE THE PRICES DIFFERENT FROM THE LAST LAUNCH? WHY ARE THEY INCREASING?
Prices of our tours are variable and seasonal, so they do change according to the time of year, currency fluctuations, and vendor pricing.
22) IF I AM NOT FROM/LIVING IN THE US, CAN I COME?
Yes, Kultured Travels tours are open to everyone worldwide, just know that you are responsible for all visa/documents required to travel to the chosen destination.
- Greek Islands can be quite expensive, please adjust expectations accordingly.
- The local currency is Euro and U.S dollar is worth less in Greece so budget wisely.
- Activities listed on the itinerary are subject to change if needed.

THIS TRIP IS NOT FOR YOU IF:
- You have a tendency to be negative or dramatic or are just plain depressing to be around.
- You're not into trying new things or stepping outside of your comfort zone.
- You don’t like greek food. That is what we’ll be eating. Every day. If you’re a vegetarian, or on a restricted diet, we have great options for you.
- You can’t easily walk up stairs. If you find walking tough, then this trip isn’t suited to you.
PRIOR TO YOUR DEPARTURE
- Check if you need to update your passport (Must be valid for more than 6 months from your travel dates).
- Determine if you need a visa and apply for one on time (Non-US passport holders).
- Inform your bank of your travel destinations.
- Sign up for State Department/Embassy alerts.
FLIGHT
You’ll have 2 options:
1) Book roundtrip flights to Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos, and plan to arrive by 4:00 p.m local time and book an afternoon return flight (note that you will be flying from Santorini the morning of your return and will have to pick up your checked bags and re-check-in for your flight home.
2) Book Incoming flight to Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos plan to arrive by 4:00 p.m local time and Book returning flight from Santorini to home (Multi-city ticket).
FOOD/DRINKS
We will consume a variety of local dishes from the Greek cuisine. Meals are not provided every day, so you are free to eat other dishes in non-group meal activities.
*Alcoholic drinks are not included with the exception of our wine tasting excursion.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
This tour involves a lot of walking and sometimes hiking, please ensure that you are physically able to participate in those activities without complaint, if not then this may not be the best trip for you.
MONEY/CURRENCY
Greece utilizes the Euro (EUR) as its currency. Please bring cash with you, most places only take cash, some places do take cards, however, to use your card you will need to set travel notices with your bank account and also know that you may be charged an international transaction fee for every card purchase.
The best recommendation would be to bring your cash with you and exchange it upon arrival.
