Itineraries
Day 1
ARRIVAL AND SAN JOSE CITY TOUR
ARRIVAL AT JUAN SANTAMARÍA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (SJO) AND TRANSFER TO YOUR 4-STAR HOTEL (E.G., GRAN HOTEL COSTA RICA).
CHECK-IN AT THE HOTEL.
AFTERNOON: GUIDED WALKING TOUR OF DOWNTOWN SAN JOSE, INCLUDING VISITS TO THE NATIONAL THEATRE, GOLD MUSEUM, AND THE METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL.
EVENING: DINNER AT A LOCAL RESTAURANT SUCH AS TIN JO OR LIZARRAN.
Day 2
ARENAL VOLCANO AND HOT SPRINGS DAY TRIP
FULL-DAY EXCURSION: VISIT TO ARENAL VOLCANO NATIONAL PARK WITH A GUIDED TOUR OF THE LAVA TRAILS AND SCENIC VIEWS OF THE VOLCANO.
AFTERNOON: RELAX AT ONE OF THE HOT SPRINGS RESORTS, SUCH AS TABACON HOT SPRINGS OR BALDI HOT SPRINGS.
EVENING: RETURN TO SAN JOSE AND DINNER AT YOUR HOTEL OR A LOCAL RESTAURANT.
Day 3
LA PAZ WATERFALL GARDENS AND POAS VOLCANO
MORNING: GUIDED TOUR TO THE LA PAZ WATERFALL GARDENS, WITH STUNNING VIEWS OF MULTIPLE WATERFALLS, A BUTTERFLY GARDEN, AND WILDLIFE RESCUE CENTER.
AFTERNOON: VISIT TO POAS VOLCANO NATIONAL PARK, WHERE YOU CAN VIEW THE ACTIVE CRATER LAKE.
EVENING: RETURN TO SAN JOSE FOR DINNER AT LEISURE.
Day 4
: COFFEE PLANTATION AND ARTISAN MARKET VISIT
MORNING: TOUR OF A TRADITIONAL COFFEE PLANTATION, SUCH AS DOKA ESTATE, WHERE YOU CAN LEARN ABOUT COFFEE PRODUCTION AND SAMPLE FRESHLY BREWED COFFEE.
AFTERNOON: VISIT TO THE SARCHÍ ARTISAN MARKET, FAMOUS FOR ITS HANDCRAFTED WOODEN OXCARTS AND SOUVENIRS.
EVENING: FAREWELL DINNER AT A ROOFTOP OR GARDEN RESTAURANT WITH VIEWS OF THE CITY.
Day 5
Departure
MORNING: LAST-MINUTE SHOPPING OR RELAXATION BEFORE CHECK-OUT.
TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT FOR DEPARTURE.
